Improving your intelligence had
been one of the major topics that occupied the human mind for so long, as the
human being is a curious creature that leaves no stone unturned, so does he
when it comes to exploring the mind field.
Nowadays many people tend to improve their
overall intelligence -good for them- as it is possible to increase your mnesic
and cognitive functioning over time, but it takes also dedication and
perseverance. You should carry a life on your hands in which you seek out
mental stimulation by challenging yourself each day to try new things.
Approve certain pastimes, like
reading, playing an instrument or meditating which boost your brain power. Without
forgetting that your overall lifestyle can significantly affect your brain's
functioning; take care of your body through eliminating toxic habits, a
sustained healthy diet, exercise routine and sleep schedule.
Make your knowledge bigger
Be
curious about everything on this planet. Read at least one book a week, reading is among the best means of
increasing your overall intelligence. In addition to gaining higher
intelligence overall, you can gain higher emotional intelligence by reading
books.
Study geography, history,
science, medicine, psychology, art, languages, math, music, etc. Not for exam
passing or to obtain a degree, but just as an enjoyment. Learn how this world
works and progresses. Add a meaning to your mind and character.
Every
day, Try new things
Innovation stimulates the brain, so you must
be open to new experiences to boost your general intelligence. New experiences are
likely to increase neuronal activity in the brain, which helps improve
intelligence over time.
Be
open in your day-to-day life. If a neighbor invites you to see a band you have
never heard, don’t hesitate and go on. If you have a chance to take a trip to a
place you have never visited, take it without hesitation. Build a new hobby or
skill like learning languages or playing an instrument.
Register yourself in an art class at a local
community center. Pass your time exposing yourself to new information as well
by watching a documentary, reading a book or an article on a topic that
interests you. Go to a museum and meditate art patterns.
Enjoy playing brain games
Do these
20 minutes per day. It will boost your reasoning special skills, your working
memory, and increase your Intelligence Quotient IQ considerably. Brain games
are designed to stimulate your whole nervous system and make you think out of
the box; an essential element for intelligence improvement. So remember those
old sweet childhood days and jump into brain games!
However, make sure to challenge yourself each
time because your intelligence grows the most in training mode. After mastering
a certain type of game, move on to the next one.
Eat Healthy
Several studies indicate a strong correlation
between quality diet and higher intelligence. Focus on getting a lot of healthy
fruits, grains, and vegetables and stay away from toxic habits like smoking and
processed foods and foods full in saturated fats.
Do frequent cardio exercises
Intelligence, memory and attention
can increase with regular exercise. Scientists believe that regular cardio increases
the amount of oxygen and glucose flow in the brain. Get on a regular workout
schedule, as this may boost your intelligence overall.
Improve your sleep
The quality of sleeping has a
huge impact on your intelligence and mental capabilities. Work on getting
sufficient 7 to 8 hours of quality sleep each night. Also avoid stimulants like
coffee close to bedtime. You may also stay away from any food that could
potentially disturb your stomach before sleeping.
“To each his own” as they say, set
up your specific relaxing bedtime ritual, if you engage in the same routine
every night; your brain will learn to associate this with sleep. Be sure to
stay away from stimulating, like going for a run. Instead, read a book!
Learn an instrument
Learning
to play music on an instrument is the same as giving your brain a complete body. Creativity, mathematical skills,
language, and analytical skills are improved if you play an instrument.
With simple words,
playing an instrument creates new neuronal paths and workout different areas
within your brain; also it has a lasting impact on memory, math and spatial
reasoning skills. So take 30 minutes a week for instrument lesson and release
your inner Mozart.
